Lake Region Development Program, in collaboration with Council of Governors (COG) and other partners, supported regional Children Devolution conference which was held at Migori and Kisii towns for Migori and Kisii counties respectively. The major focus was on the Big Four agenda that is Affordable health care, Affordable Housing, Food Security and Expanding of Trade and Manufacturing focuses on issues that are key to children’s welfare. Children were drawn from the 8 sub counties within Migori County and a total number of 60 children including those with disability were reached.
The following were the objectives of the conference;
1.To prepare a roadmap for the implementation of the Big Four Agenda from the perspective of the children.
2.To promote Children’s Rights and Participation in the county governance through Children’s parliament.
3.To build Children’s Perception of Devolution.
