The Organization focuses on strengthening the Government system that supports highly vulnerable youth (boys and Girls) employability by creating income possibilities through provision of market driven livelihood opportunities and technical skills training. It works with County and sub-county level officers by building their capacity to deliver quality training, supervise and mentor youth groups through developing with them a comprehensive package of training that addresses identified gaps in information and capacity; and delivering quality training that will enhance youth livelihood performance by increasing county government and private sector support and financing. The youths are exposed to work environment through engagement in an apprenticeship programme while at the same time gaining crucial life skills. It further supports the youth (girls and boys) make decisions on their destiny and increase their chances of independently or collectively plan for, develop and operationalize successful business models. On the other hand, youths who are still in school are not being provided with adequate practical skills that they require as they transit in to adulthood making it extreme challenging to be able to make a sustainable living. The program thus targets these youths in schools so that they are exposed to and equipped with social skills, financial literacy and awareness that is meant to influence their knowledge, competence and behaviour towards saving, spending, budgeting and planning while at the same time get opportunity to use their newly acquired skills to set themselves up early in life to see entrepreneurship both as a career option and opportunity for self-employment. Some of the youths are orphaned and vulnerable as a result of HIV/Aids leaving them under the care of their grandmothers. Most cases, the condition under which they live do not give them opportunity to advance their dreams. The Program thus incorporates their caregivers through economic strengthening initiatives. Such initiative is meant to strengthen the household’s economic coping capacity and opportunities, which will increase their resilience and make them less susceptible to shocks. The Organization also works in close collaboration with other partners to ensure that youths are able to access age appropriate sexual reproductive health services. This includes awareness creation for enhanced knowledge as well as access appropriate services.
